Purpose of the site

Circle of Creatives is a curated directory and community for artisans, artists, makers, performers, writers, educators, culture bearers and independent creative businesses of the Hudson Valley and Catskills. It is a project of Circle Creative Collective.

Your account

You are responsible for the accuracy of what you enter, for keeping your password private, and for everything done through your account. Tell us promptly if you believe your account has been used without your permission.

Eligibility and community participation

Listings are intended for creatives working in the Hudson Valley and Catskills. Circle reviews every listing, free or paid, and acceptance is at Circle's discretion. Payment does not guarantee acceptance.

Accuracy of member information

You agree that the information in your listing is truthful and describes your own practice. Please keep it up to date; out-of-date listings may be archived.

Ownership of your work

You keep ownership of your artwork, photographs, writing and every other piece of creative work you submit. Circle claims no ownership of your work.

By submitting content to your listing or an event, you grant Circle of Creatives and Circle Creative Collective a non-exclusive permission to display, reproduce and share that content as needed to run the directory and events calendar and to promote the Circle and its members — on this website, in newsletters and on Circle's social channels. You can withdraw that permission by removing the content or asking us to remove your listing.

You confirm you own or have permission to use everything you submit, and that anyone shown in a photograph has agreed to appear.

Prohibited content

Do not submit content that is unlawful, hateful, harassing, deceptive, infringing, or that misrepresents mass-produced or imported goods as handmade work. Do not submit anyone else's work as your own.

Circle's review of listings and events

Circle may review, edit, reject, remove or archive any listing or event that does not meet these terms or the community guidelines, and may correct obvious errors or optimize images for display.

Membership and payment

Free listings carry no charge. Paid memberships are billed at the rate shown on the Join the Circle page for the period stated. You can cancel a paid membership at any time; your listing then reverts to the free level at the end of the paid period.

Featured Event payments

Featured Event placement is a paid upgrade. The fee is shown clearly before you submit. Payment is authorized when you request the placement and is only captured if Circle approves the Featured placement. If Circle declines the Featured placement, the authorization is released and you are not charged; the event itself may still be published as an ordinary listing.

Cancellations and refunds

Membership fees already paid for a current period are generally non-refundable. If something has gone wrong, write to us — we would rather sort it out than stand on the letter of a policy.

Listings and events link to websites, shops and social accounts that Circle does not control and is not responsible for.

Dealings between visitors and members

Circle of Creatives introduces people; it is not a party to any purchase, commission, booking, class or other arrangement between a visitor and a listed creative or business, and is not responsible for those transactions or interactions.

Changes to the service and these terms

The platform and these terms may change as Circle of Creatives develops. The current version always appears on this page.
