Information you give us

When you create an account we collect your email address and a password, which is stored by our authentication provider in an encrypted form. We never see or store your password ourselves.

When you create a listing we collect the information you enter: your name, an optional business or studio name, your town, your category and disciplines, descriptions, services, links, photographs and any film link you add.

Public profile information

Once Circle approves your listing, the profile information you submitted is published on this website and may be shown in search results, on category pages, on the homepage and in Circle's promotion of the directory.

Your street address is only ever shown if you explicitly choose to publish a visitable studio or shop address. Choosing town-only, or opting out of the map, keeps your address private.

Private contact and account information

Your email address is private. It is never published on the website and is not shared with other members or with third parties.

Circle administrators can see the email address attached to a member account so they can contact you about your listing, your membership and the operation of the directory.

Event submissions

When you submit an event we collect the event details and a contact email for the organizer. Event details are published once approved; the organizer email stays private and is used by Circle to contact you about the listing.

Payments

Paid memberships and paid Featured Event placements are processed by a third-party payment provider. Card details are entered with that provider and are never stored on Circle of Creatives. We keep only a record of what was purchased and its status.

Website usage and technical information

Our hosting and infrastructure providers process ordinary technical information such as IP address, browser type and pages requested in order to serve the website securely and reliably.

Cookies and necessary site technologies

We use only the storage the site needs to work — principally keeping you signed in when you have an account. We do not use advertising cookies or sell data to advertisers.

Email communications

Account and transactional email — confirming your address, resetting your password and notifying you about your listing — is part of using the platform and is sent whether or not you subscribe to anything else.

Community and newsletter email is optional. You choose whether to opt in when you create your listing, and you can unsubscribe at any time without affecting your account.

How we use information

To publish and maintain the directory and events calendar, to review submissions, to contact you about your listing or account, to operate memberships and payments, and to promote the members of the Circle.

Service providers

We rely on service providers for hosting, database and file storage, authentication, email delivery and payment processing. They process information only as needed to provide those services to us.

Data security

Access to member information is restricted to authorized Circle administrators. Data is held with reputable providers using access controls and encryption in transit. No system can be guaranteed perfectly secure, but we take care with what you entrust to us.

Updating your information

You can sign in and update your listing at any time. Changes to a published listing are reviewed by Circle before they go live. You may ask us to correct or remove your listing at any point.

Requests concerning personal information

Write to info@circlecreativecollective.org to ask what information we hold about you, to correct it, or to ask us to delete your account and listing. We will respond within a reasonable time.

We may update this policy as the platform develops. The current version always appears on this page.
