Circle of Creatives is a curated directory and community for the artisans, artists, makers, performers, writers, educators, culture bearers and independent creative businesses of the Hudson Valley and Catskills — a single place where the creative life of this region can be found.
Our purpose is simple. Creatives here deserve to be discovered by the people who want to buy their work, learn from them, commission them, stock them, book them and collaborate with them. Visitors and neighbors deserve an honest, well-kept guide to who is making what, and where — not an algorithm, and not a marketplace of imported goods.
Circle of Creatives does three things. It maintains a curated regional directory of creative practitioners, organized by discipline and town. It publishes a shared Creative Events Calendar of markets, workshops, classes, open studios, exhibitions and performances. And it builds connection between creatives themselves, so that the people making things here know one another.
It is a project of Circle Creative Collective, the women-led nonprofit preserving and reimagining traditional craft as a tool for healing, celebration and community connection. Every listing — free or paid — is reviewed by Circle before it appears.
Who can join
Circle of Creatives is a curated collective. It is intended for creatives working in the Hudson Valley and Catskills:
- Artists, artisans, makers and designers
- Performers, musicians, writers and storytellers
- Educators and culture bearers
- Independent creative businesses
What we look for
Work should be original and rooted in authentic creative practice. Physical handmade products should reflect Circle's commitment to craftsmanship, responsible making, sustainability and quality. Mass-produced imported goods do not qualify as handmade work.
Circle reviews and approves every listing — free and paid alike — to maintain the integrity of the directory.
